오늘의 묵상
우리들은 종종 우리 교회, 운동, 집회에 많은 군중을 모으고 싶어합니다. 예수님도 큰 군중에게 사역하셨습니다. 하지만 제자도에 대한 가장 강력한 가르침은 그 군중으로부터 멀리 떨어져서 시행하셨는데, 제자들만 같이 있었을 때였습니다. 구원자 예수님과 함께 걸으며 성숙한 제자가 되기 위해 한발자국씩 나아가려면, 군중들이 받아들일 수 있을만한 수준으로는 부족했던 것입니다. 그래서 예수님께서는 적은 수의 헌신된 제자들의 모임에서 가르치시고 그들을 성숙시켜서 미래에 다가올 도전들에 대비하게 하시려고 (군중들에게서) 물러나 계셨던 것입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
We often seek to attract large crowds to our churches, crusades, and rallies. Jesus also ministered to large crowds. However, the Lord's most passionate teaching on discipleship occurs away from the crowds when he is alone with his disciples. What the crowds can accept is not enough to call people to mature discipleship — to that next level in their walk with the Savior. But Jesus withdrew for intensive teaching with a small group of committed disciples to mature and prepare them for future challenges, even as great as his Passion.

거룩하신 하나님, 저와 같이 성경을 공부하는 모임의 사람들을 축복해 주시고, 어떤 대가를 치르든 상관없이 주님을 따르겠다는 모든 지역의 모든 이들을 축복해 주시옵소서. 제 삶을 함께 나누고 그리스도의 주인되심에 복종하며 성숙하도록 저를 단련시키실 이들에게로 이끌어 주시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Holy God, please bless the people in my Bible study group and everywhere seeking to follow you no matter the cost. Please lead me to a small group of believers with whom I can share my life and through whom you will challenge me to grow in my surrender to the Lordship of Christ so I can follow him in the way of the Cross. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
