Gedanken zum Vers des Tages
Worauf kommt es wirklich an? In unserem Alltagsleben sind Prioritäten enorm wichtig, wenn wir erfolgreich und produktiv sein wollen. Das gilt genauso für unsere Nachfolge. Wir wollen auf das konzentriert sein, was zentral, wesentlich und am wichtigsten ist. Paulus erinnert uns daran, was das Wesentliche ist: “ein Glaube, der sich durch tatkräftige Liebe als echt erweist.” Der Glaube, der sich nicht durch liebevolle und hilfreiche Taten ausdrückt, ist tot (Jakobus 2). Jesus will, dass unser Glaube sich im lebendigen und liebevollen Dienst erweist.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
What matters most? Priorities are critical to our everyday lives to be successful and productive. This is equally true in our discipleship. We want to concentrate on what is vital, essential, and most important. Paul reminds us what is essential: Faith showing itself in loving actions. Faith that does not show itself in loving and helpful actions is dead and is not faith — it is dead on arrival (James 2:14). Jesus wants our faith to express itself in vibrant and loving service.
Mein Gebet
Allmächtiger Gott, bitte verzeih mir, wenn ich zeitweise das Wesentliche aus den Augen verloren und mich auf das Nebensächliche fokussiert habe. Bitte verzeih mir, wenn mir in manchen Zeiten meine Interessen und Anliegen wichtiger waren als der liebevolle Dienst an anderen. Bitte schenke mir offene Augen für jene Menschen, denen ich heute dienen soll, damit auch sie die Liebe Jesu erkennen mögen. Im Namen Jesu bete ich. Amen.
My Prayer...
Almighty God, please forgive me for the times I have lost sight of what is essential and focused on what is peripheral. Please forgive me for the times when my interests and concerns were more important to me than loving service to others and helping them with their needs. Please give me eyes to see the people you would have me serve today so others may know Jesus' love, and I can keep on target with what is essential. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
