Gedanken zum Vers des Tages
Zufriedenheit! Hmmm, davon hätte ich gerne etwas mehr. Und du? Mir fällt es oft schwer, überhaupt zufrieden zu sein, weil ich den Standards nicht entspreche. Mein Gewicht ist nicht optimal, bei meiner letzten Unterhaltung waren meine Worte ein wenig unsensibel u.s.w. Es ist sogar einfacher, in Gedanken einzutauchen, woran es mir finanziell mangelt und in diesen Überlegungen stecken zu bleiben. Aber bevor wir Geld, Besitztümer, Gesundheit oder irgendetwas anderes genießen können, müssen wir lernen, dass Zufriedenheit nicht den Umständen entspringt, sondern unsere Rettung ist.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Contentment! Mmmm, I'd like to have a little of that! How about you? Paul was in prison when he wrote those words. I want the peace and joy from Jesus that assures contentment in any situation! However, I find it hard to be contented about almost anything. My performance is not up to par. My weight isn't where it should be. My words were a little insensitive in the last conversation. No one seems to recognize I am even a part of the conversation. It's easy for me, and also bet for you, to slip into recognizing what we don't have financially and then pursue that instead of thanking God for our blessings. But before money, possessions, health, or any other thing can be truly enjoyed, we first must learn that contentment is not based on our circumstances but on our salvation and the presence of Jesus in our lives and futures.
Mein Gebet
Allmächtiger und großzügiger Gott, du bist der Geber aller guten Gaben. Darum bitte ich dich jetzt um deine Hilfe, um das Geschenk der Zufriedenheit zu finden. Auch wenn du mich für deinen Segen erwählt hast, so weiß ich doch tief in meinem Herzen, dass kein Segen vergleichbar ist mit dem Geschenk, dein Kind zu sein – von dir geliebt und persönlich von dir erkannt zu sein. Im Namen Jesu danke ich dir. Amen.
My Prayer...
Almighty and generous God, you are the giver of all good gifts, so now I want your help to find my contentment in Jesus. Deep in my heart, I believe no blessing can compare to being your child, lovingly known personally by you, and having my future secure with you in Jesus! I thank you in Jesus' name and look forward to this contentment. Amen.
