Gedanken zum Vers des Tages
Wie sind die Schriften (die Bibel) entstanden? Was stellt das Fundament unseres Vertrauens in der Bibel und dem Evangelium dar? Petrus will uns wissen lassen, dass die Propheten der alten Zeiten sich keine eigenen “Rezepte” für ihre Prophezeiungen ausgedacht haben. Sie konnten nur aktiv werden durch das, was Gott in ihnen bewirkte und entsprechend reagieren, ohne Rücksicht auf das, was sie persönlich tun oder sagen wollten. Sie waren Menschen, aber ihre Botschaft war das Wort Gottes, weil der Heilige Geist in ihnen aktiv war, um ihre Worte zu führen. Aus diesem Grund sind die Worte der Propheten in der Bibel mehr als kostbar: wir erhalten durch sie die wahren Worte Gottes! (cf. 2 Tim. 3,16-17)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Where did Scripture come from? What is the basis of our faith in the Bible and the Gospel? Peter wants us to realize that the prophets of ancient times, God's servants, didn't bake up their own private recipes for their prophecies. Instead, they could only move and respond to what God was doing in them, not what they wanted to do or say. They were human, but their messages were God's word because the Holy Spirit moved them to speak and guided them in what they said. This makes what we have in Scripture from the prophets more than precious. We have been given the very words of God! (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Mein Gebet
Allmächtiger Gott, ich danke dir, dass du gewöhnliche Menschen inspiriert hast, um uns deine außergewöhnliche Botschaft in einer einfachen, alltäglichen Sprache zu überbringen. Danke, dass du uns diese wesentlichen Botschaft der Bibel gegeben und sie durch Zeiten der Verfolgung, Härte und Opposition bewahrt hast. Verwende bitte die gleichen Schriften, um Erneuerung in meinem Herzen und in unserem ganzen Land zu entfachen. Im Namen Jesu bete ich. Amen.
My Prayer...
Almighty God, thank you for inspiring ordinary people to give us your extraordinary message in common, everyday language. Thank you for delivering your essential messages to us in the Bible through your prophets. Thank you for preserving your truth through persecution, hardship, and opposition. Please use those same Scriptures to ignite a new revival in my heart and in your creation, in our day. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
