Gedanken zum Vers des Tages
Schätzt du nicht auch den Ausdruck “im heiligen Festschmuck” und sehnst dich danach, diese Pracht zu sehen? Hier werden Erinnerungen an Jesaja´s Begegnung mit Gott in Jesaja 6 heraufbeschworen oder die Johannisvision von Jesus in der Offenbarung, Kapitel 1. Gottes Wesenszug – im Alten Testament bekannt als seine Herrlichkeit und Heiligkeit – kann nur als prächtig beschrieben werden! Unsere einzige angemessene Erwiderung kann nur die sein, sich mit den Engeln in Jesaja 6 und mit den Ältesten aus der Offenbarung um den Thron zu versammeln und mit einzustimmen in Gottes Anbetung und den Ausruf: “Heilig, heilig, heilig ist der HERR der Heerscharen! Die ganze Erde ist erfüllt mit seiner Herrlichkeit!”
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Don't you appreciate the phrase "the splendor of his holiness"! Don't you long to behold that splendor? It conjures up reminders of Isaiah's encounter with God in Isaiah 6 or John's vision of Jesus in Revelation 1. God's essence — known in the Old Testament as his holy and majestic glory — can be described only as splendorous! Our fitting response is to join the angels of Isaiah 6 and the twenty-four elders around the throne in Revelation (Revelation 7:9-11, worship God, and cry, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty. The whole earth is full of his glory." Let's "worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness!"
Mein Gebet
Gott, du bist heilig und majestätisch – mehr als mein Verstand erfassen oder meine Vorstellungskraft ersinnen kann. Ich bete dich an und preise dich für deine Herrlichkeit, Macht, Gnade und Barmherzigkeit. Ich sehne mich nach dem Tag, an dem ich von Angesicht zu Angesicht deine Pracht sehen und einstimmen kann mit den Engeln des Himmels und mit den vierundzwanzig Ältesten in deine unaufhörliche Anbetung und deinen Preis. Durch Jesus bringe ich dir dieses Lob und mein Leben. Amen.
My Prayer...
You are holy and majestic, O God, more than my mind can grasp or imagine. I worship and praise you for your glory, might, grace, and mercy. I hunger for the day when I can see your splendor face to face and join the angels of heaven and the twenty-four elders in a never-ending worship of praise. Through Jesus, I offer this praise as I offer my life. Amen.
