Gedanken zum Vers des Tages
Ein neuer Bund —- Gott hat mit uns, seinen Geschöpfen, aus freien Stücken ein neues Abkommen geschlossen. Er hat diesen Bund mit dem Blut seines Sohnes, Jesus, besiegelt und seinen Geist gesandt, um uns die Kraft zu verleihen, dem Bund gemäß zu leben. Gott hat einen Bund der Liebe und Gnade mit uns geschlossen. Der Allmächtige hat uns als würdig erachtet und befähigt, diesen Bund mit anderen zu teilen. Kein Wunder, dass der Bund lebensspendend ist: Er bringt uns Leben und spendet Leben durch uns!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
A new covenant — God willingly entered into a new agreement with us, his creatures, sealed it with the blood of his Son Jesus, and sent the Spirit to give us the power to live the life of this new covenant. God has made a covenant of love and grace with us. The Almighty has then turned around and made us worthy and competent to share that covenant with others. No wonder it is life giving: it brings life to us and through us!
Mein Gebet
Oh heiliger und majestätischer Gott, danke für deine Gnade, die mich von meiner Sünde gerettet und mich von dem Gesetz der Sünde und des Todes erlöst hat. Danke für das Geschenk deines Sohnes und deines Geistes, die mich für den Bund des Lebens, der Gnade und der Liebe befähigen. Während ich meine Schwachheit eingestehe, nehme ich mir auch vor, ein Leben zur Ehre deines Opfers, deiner Liebe und deines Bundes zu leben – vertrauend darauf, dass du mich fähig machst, das Leben zu leben, wozu du mich berufen hast. Im Namen Jesu bete ich. Amen.
My Prayer...
O holy and majestic God, thank you for your grace that has saved me from sin and has redeemed me from the law of sin and death. Thank you for sending the gift of your Son and the gift of your Spirit so that I can live with you in a covenant of life, grace, and love. While I confess my weaknesses, I also commit to you that I will live to honor your sacrifice, love and covenant, trusting that you will ultimately empower me to be what you are calling me to be. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
