Gott ist mit uns! Das ist die große Botschaft der Geschichte Jesu (Mt. 1,23) Das ist die Botschaft der Hoffnung, die Zephanja dem besiegten Volk Gottes gibt. Gott ist unter uns. Er hat die Macht, zu retten. Er liebt uns. Er freut sich über uns. Die Stürme unserer Herzen besänftigt er durch seine liebende Berührung. Er singt uns beruhigende Lieder der Freude. Gott sehnt sich danach, uns nahe zu sein und lädt uns in seine Nähe ein. Wie willst du darauf reagieren?
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
God is with us! That's the great message of the story of Jesus (Matthew 1:23). That's the message of hope Zephaniah gives the defeated people of God. God is among us. He is mighty to save. He loves us. He delights in us. He stills the storms of our hearts with his loving touch. He sings us lullabies of joy. God longs to be close to us and invites us to draw near. What will your response be?
Mein Gebet
Vater, stärke mein Vorhaben, mich vom Bösen abzuwenden und deine Nähe zu suchen. Ich möchte keine Scheinbeziehung mit dir. Ich möchte kein künstliches Symbol von dir. Ich will dich kennenlernen. Ich will deine Gegenwart erfahren und als ein Werkzeug deiner Gnade im Leben anderer benutzt werden. Ich brauche deine Gegenwart, um die Unruhe meiner Seele zu stillen. Danke, dass du mir nahe bist. Im Namen Jesu bete ich. Amen.
My Prayer...
Father, strengthen my resolve as I turn away from evil and seek to draw near to you. I don't want any imitation relationship with you. I don't want some artificial symbol of you. I want to know you. I want to experience your presence and to be used as your tool of grace in the lives of others. I need your presence to settle the disquietude of my soul. Thank you for being near. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
