Gedanken zum Vers des Tages
Wann hast du zum letzten Mal von dir selbst als “Gerechte/r Gottes“ gedacht? Was bedeutet das überhaupt? Es bedeutet, dass wir die besten Qualitäten besitzen, die man in den besten Dingen vorfinden kann. Doch uns ist sehr wohl bewusst, dass wir Gott nicht-ähnlich sind! Wir kennen unsere Fehlerhaftigkeiten und Mängel! Wir kennen unsere Unvollkommenheiten und Widersprüche! Wie ist es möglich, dass wir “die Gerechten Gottes” sind? Jesus, der ein vollkommener und sündloser Gerechter Gottes war, ist zu unserer Sünde geworden, damit wir seine Gerechtigkeit werden konnten. Das ist mehr als Gnade, das ist ein Wunder! Und ein Wunder, lieber Freund von Jesus, ist genau das, was du bist!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
When was the last time you thought of yourself as "the righteousness of God"? What does that mean anyway? It means that we have the best of qualities found in the best of beings; God himself! Even though we were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27), we know we are not fully god-like! We know our fallibility and flaws. God is perfect in every way. We know our imperfections and our inconsistencies! With God, there are no imperfections. He is holy and righteous. So, how can we be "the righteousness of God"? Jesus, the perfect and sinless Righteous One of God, became our sin for us so we could be righteousness in him. More than grace, this is God's gracious miracle in us! And a miracle, dear friend of Jesus, is precisely what you are!!

Danke, gnädiger und liebender Vater, dass du mich durch die Opfergabe deines Sohnes errettet und vollkommen gemacht hast. Bitte gebrauche mich, um deine Gnade und dein Heil jemandem in meiner Nähe mitzuteilen, der deine Gnade noch nicht angenommen hat. Im Namen Jesu, meines älteren Bruders und Heilands, bete ich. Amen.

Thank you, gracious and loving Father, for saving me and making me perfect in your sight through your sacrificial gift of your Son (Colossians 1:22). Please use me to communicate your grace and your salvation with someone around me who hasn't accepted your grace. In the name of Jesus, my older brother (Romans 8:15-17; Hebrews 2:14-17) and Savior, I pray. Amen.
