Pensées sur le Verset du Jour...
Jésus était là. Il était avec Dieu au commencement. Mais il était plus qu'un simple témoin de la Création ; il l'a créée ! Jésus, qui s'est laissé limiter à une chair humaine et mourir de manière cruelle et agonisante sur la Croix, était là au début en tant que Parole parlant notre monde à l'existence. Il l'a fait. C'est le sien. Pourtant, il est venu et est mort pour le racheter. Plus spécifiquement, il est venu pour te racheter, ainsi que moi. Alors, quand la Parole nous parle en nous disant comment vivre pour plaire à Dieu, ne pensez-vous pas que nous ferions mieux d'y prêter attention ? Mieux encore, ne pensez-vous pas que nous devrions le faire ?
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Jesus was there. He was with God in the beginning, yet he was much more than just a witness of Creation. He created it all — there is NOTHING that has been created that Jesus did not make happen. Yes, this Jesus also allowed himself to be limited to human flesh and endured a cruel and agonizing death on a cross. This Jesus was there at the beginning as the Word, speaking our world into existence. He had made everything. It is his. Yet when humanity stained it with rebellion and sin, he came and died to redeem it. More specifically, he came to redeem you and me. So when the One who is the Word speaks to us, telling us how to live to please God, don't you think we'd better pay attention? Better yet, don't you think we should do what the Word says?
Ma Prière...
Père Saint, ton plan pour me sauver me submerge et m'humilie. Que Tu envoies Jésus, la Parole qui a créé le monde que je connais, est plus merveilleux que je ne peux pleinement comprendre. Le fait qu'il se soit laissé limiter au monde qu'il avait fait défie mon imagination. Qu'il soit mort pour moi afin que je puisse vivre avec Toi touche profondément mon cœur ! S'il te plaît, aide-moi alors que je cherche à vivre ma vie en me basant sur ses enseignements et ta volonté. Au nom de Jésus, la Parole Vivante, je prie. Amen.
My Prayer...
Holy Father, your plan to save me through Jesus overwhelms and humbles me. That you would send the Word, who created the world, is more gracious than I can fully grasp. That he would allow himself to be limited to the world he had made boggles my imagination. That he would die for me so I can live with you forever captures my heart! Please help me as I seek to live based on the Word's teachings and your will. In the name of Jesus, the Living Word, I pray. Amen.
