Pensées sur le Verset du Jour...

La vengeance est la manière de Satan de détruire à la fois l'innocent et le délinquant. Une fois que la vengeance devient la motivation, la partie blessée peut soudainement être emportée par la rage et la haine. Ce poison se propage à tout ce que touche la personne vengeresse. Sur terre, nous pouvons voir que nous ne trouverons jamais une justice parfaite et complète, peu importe la « bonté » du système judiciaire en place à l'époque. Mais Dieu n'apportera pas seulement la justice ; il nous délivrera : nous délivrera des mains de l'oppresseur et du poison de la haine.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Revenge is Satan's way of destroying both the innocent and the offender. Once vengeance becomes the motivation, the wounded party can suddenly be swept up in rage and hatred. This poison spreads to everything the vengeful person touches. On earth, we can see that we will never find perfect and complete justice, no matter the "goodness" of the judicial system in place at the time. But God will not only bring justice; he will deliver us: deliver us from the hands of the oppressor and deliver us from the poison of hatred.

Ma Prière...

Seigneur qui pardonne, Dieu de toute justice et d'un amour inébranlable, je te demande d'être à l'œuvre dans le système de justice de mon pays. Rends-le plus équitable et vrai. Expose ceux qui achètent et vendent la justice et renvoies-les du pouvoir. Traite les violents et les oppresseurs avec ta main puissante. S'il te plaît, Seigneur, par la puissance de ton Esprit, incite-moi à pardonner aux autres et à m'attendre à ta justice. Garde-moi du poison d'un cœur impitoyable et vengeur. Que mon attitude, mon comportement et ma réponse envers ceux qui m'ont fait du mal puissent les aider à connaître ton Fils comme leur Sauveur. En son nom, Jésus, que je prie. Amen.

My Prayer...

Forgiving Lord, God of all justice and steadfast love, I ask you to be at work in the justice system of my land. Make it more equitable and true. Expose those who buy and sell justice and remove them from power. Deal with the violent and the oppressor with your mighty hand. Please, Lord, by the power of your Spirit, stir me to forgive others and to wait on your justice. Guard me from the poison of an unforgiving and vengeful heart. May my attitude, behavior, and response to those who wrong me help lead them to know your Son as their Savior. In his name, Jesus, that I pray. Amen.
