Pensées sur le Verset du Jour...
Dans le bel hymne intitulé "O tête sacrée", le dernier verset se termine par cet appel: "Seigneur, ne me laisse jamais, jamais, enterrer mon amour pour Toi." A ce sentiment, nous voulons ajouter: "Seigneur, ne me laisse jamais, jamais, mourir avant que la génération suivante ne te connaisse!" Nous devons vivre pour que quatre générations puissent transmettre leur foi à ceux qui les suivent (2 Timothée 2:1-2). Cela signifie que je veux que mes petits-enfants transmettent leur foi à leurs enfants et amis. Alors oui, "Seigneur, ne me laisse jamais, jamais, mourir jusqu'à ce que les prochaines générations te connaissent!"
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
In the beautiful old hymn "O Sacred Head," the final verse ends with this plea: "Lord, let me never, never, outlive my love to Thee." To this sentiment, we want to add one other verse in the old English style of the hymn: "Lord, let me never, never, die until the next generation knoweth Thee!" We must live so four generations can pass on their faith to those who follow them (2 Timothy 2:1-2). This means I want my grandchildren to pass on their faith to their children and friends. So yes, "Lord, let me never, never, die until the next generations knoweth Thee!"
Ma Prière...
Seigneur Dieu tout-puissant, le grand JE SUIS, s'il te plaît, aide-moi et ceux de ma génération à transmettre une appréciation de ta puissance et de ta gloire à ceux qui viendront après nous. Bénis l'avenir de ton Église avec de nombreuses autres générations de foi après moi, ou jusqu'à ce que Tu envoies ton Fils pour ramener ton peuple à la maison. Au nom de mon Seigneur qui vient, Jésus-Christ, je prie. Amen.
My Prayer...
Lord God Almighty, the great I AM; please help me and those in my generation to pass on an appreciation of your power and glory to those who come after us. Bless your Church's future with many more continuous generations of faith after me, or until you send your Son to bring your people home. In the name of Jesus my coming Lord, I pray. Amen.
