Pensées sur le Verset du Jour...

Jésus cite un truisme général qui était populaire à son époque, mais qui utilisait le dicton «homme fort» pour se référer à Satan. Satan est l'homme fort qui nous a liés par le péché et la mort et Jésus est entré par effraction dans la maison et nous a volés parce qu'il pouvait lier l'homme fort. Il l'a fait en devenant humain et en faisant face à la mort avec une obéissance totale à Dieu, puis il est ressuscité des morts pour vaincre la mort et nous donner la vie! Louez Dieu! Jésus est entré par effraction dans la maison de l'homme fort. Il l'a maîtrisé et l'a lié. Et qu'est-ce qu'il a fait sortir de la maison de l'homme fort? Trésor enfoui, bien sûr! Et ce trésor, c'est nous !!

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Jesus is quoting a general truism that was popular in his day but was using the "strong man" saying to refer to Satan. Satan is the strong man that had us bound by sin and death and Jesus broke into the house and stole us back because he could bind the strong man. He did this by becoming human and facing death with complete obedience to God and then rose from the dead to defeat death and give us life! Praise God! Jesus broke into the Strong Man's house. He overpowered him and bound him. And, what did he bring out of the Strong Man's house? Buried treasure, of course! And that treasure is us!!
