오늘의 묵상
우리는 지구상의 피조물입니다. 사실 우리는 단순한 피조물들보다는 훨씬 뛰어나지만, 종종 이 사실을 기억해야 할 때가 있습니다! 우리는 시간 이전의 존재에 대해 제대로 이해할 수 없지만, 시간이라는 것이 시작하기 전에도 하나님께서 존재하셨다고 알고 있습니다. 우리의 존재 기반을 제공하는, 잘 정리된 우주가 있기 전에도 하나님이 존재하셨습니다. 이 창조된 우주보다 먼저 계셨고, 우주를 초월하시고, 우주 없이도 존재하신 분입니다. 우리는 이것을 완전히 이해하기조차 어렵습니다. 이것은 하루, 일주일, 일년, 천년 등의 시작을 하나님과 함께 해야 하는 이유이기도 합니다. 오직 그분만이 우리의 궁극적인 "창세기"이자 "처음"입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
We are creatures of the earth. Yes, we are much more than that, but occasionally, we must be reminded of our earth-bound existence at this time in our lives! We can't truly understand existence before, beyond, or above time. Yet before the beginning of time, as we know it, God existed — he has revealed himself as "I Am," the one who was, who is, and who is to come. Before there was an ordered universe to provide the basis of our existence, God was "I Am" — existing in the past, present, and future simultaneously! He existed before, beyond, and without our created universe and the limitations of space and time. We can't truly comprehend this in its entirety. That's why every new beginning — a day, a week, a year, or a millennium — should begin with God. He alone is the ultimate Genesis, the "I Am" present at every new beginning.

온 우주의 전능하신 창조자이신 하나님, 저는 당신의 비교할 수 없는 능력과 영광을 찬송합니다. 제가 이 새로운 일 년을 시작할 때, 나의 미래가 당신의 뜻과 은혜와 구원에 의지한다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 제가 이 미래로 여행할때에 저와 동행해 주세요. 오늘과, 올해와, 제게 주시는 이 땅의 삶이 끝나도록, 제가 살아가는 곳에서 하나님께서 영광을 받으시기를. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Almighty Creator and God of the universe, I praise you for your incomparable power and incomprehensible glory. As I begin this new year, I know my future rests in your will, grace, and salvation. Please go with me as I journey toward this new future. Please be glorified in how I live my life today, this year, and for as long as you give me earthly life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
