오늘의 묵상
이 축복의 기도 하나에 들어있는 진리의 크기가 얼마나 큰지! 우리는 하나님께서 우리를 위해 하실 수 있는 일들에 먼저 눈이 갑니다. 넘어짐(실족)에서 막아주시고 그 영광 앞에 흠이 없는 완벽한 기쁨으로 세워주실 수 있다고 합니다. 하지만 더욱 자세히 들여다 보면, 우리 마음은, 형언할 수 없이 놀라우신 하나님에 대한 표현을 그려보게 됩니다. 능력자이시며, 유일하신 하나님, 우리 구원자, 영광과 위엄과 권력과 권세 속에 거하시는 분, 우리 주 예수를 통해 우리와 연결되신 분, 영원 전부터 거하시고 지금도 살아계시며 앞으로도 영원토록 존재하실 분이라는 것입니다. 하나님 자녀로서의 우리의 축복들은 믿을 수 없을 만큼 놀랍지만, 그 축복이 그렇게 위대한 까닭은, 바로 우리 하나님께서 위대함, 놀라움, 최고수준을 뛰어 넘는 분이시기 때문입니다. 우리의 언어는 하나님을 제대로 평가할 수 조차 없습니다. 우리의 가장 명석한 통찰력으로도, 그분이 가지신 영광을 제대로 이해할 수 없습니다. 하지만 그분의 그런 영화에도 불구하고, 유한하여 죽을 수 밖에 없는 당신과 나를 사랑하십니다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
What a great cluster of truths Jude provides us! Our eyes are first drawn to what God can do for us — prevent us from falling and present us before his glorious presence in joyful perfection. On closer inspection, our hearts are also drawn to the description of our incredible God: the one who is able, the only God, our Savior, who lives in glory, majesty, and power. God is the one true authority who has communicated to us through Jesus, who existed before all ages, is alive now, and will always be. Our blessings as God's children are incredible, but they are because our God is beyond incredible; he is gloriously extraordinary, wonderfully gracious, and indescribably holy. Our words cannot do him justice. Our brightest insights cannot comprehend his glory. Yet despite his grandeur, God loves you and me in our finite and flawed mortality!

놀랍고 거룩하시고, 가장 높으신 주님, 하나님으로 존재하실 뿐 아니라, 저를 사랑해 주시고 당신 자신을 예수님의 얼굴로 나타내 주시어 감사합니다. 저는 당신의 임재 가운데 있기를 원하고, 당신의 완전함을 공유하는 것을 기뻐하며, 천사들과 함께 당신의 영광을 찬송하는 것을 원합니다. 당신의 영광 속에 저의 불완전함이 묻혀 버리고, 저의 말들이 죽음의 고리를 끊고 풀려날 그날까지, 저의 유한한 인간 수준의 찬송을 받아주십시오. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Awesome and Holy Lord, Most High God, thank you for being Almighty God, and also tenderly loving me and showing yourself to me in the life and ministry of Jesus. I look forward to standing in your presence, enjoying your perfection, and praising you in the presence of the glorious angels. Please accept my human praise until my words are unchained from their mortality and my imperfections are swallowed up in your glory. Amen.
