축복의 말을 표현하는 것이 참 어렵다는 것을 느껴 보셨나요? 타락한 상태의 우리들은, 복을 빌어주는 말보다는 빈정대거나 조롱하는 말을 쓰는 것이 더 쉬워보입니다. 하지만, 하나님의 가족들 사이의 언어는 다른 이들의 복과 이익을 위해서만 사용됩니다. 바울이 빌레몬에게 보낸 이 한 구절보다 더욱 간단하고, 친절하게 타인들을 축복할만한 표현이 혹시 없을까요? 그런 표현을 쓸 방법을 찾아보고 말해보고, 또 말해봅시다...
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Have you noticed how words of blessing are in such short supply these days? There is something about our fallen state that makes sarcasm and ridicule easier to use than sharing a heartfelt Christian blessing. But, in God's family, words are always to be used for the benefit and blessing of others (Ephesians 4:29). What simpler or kinder words do we need to use to bless others than these words Paul sent to Philemon? Let's find a way to say these words, share them again and again, and then share more like them, too!
