오늘의 묵상
우리들은 매력적으로 보이기 위해 언어를 사용할 수 있습니다. 좋은 인상을 주기 위해서도 언어를 사용할 수 있습니다. 논쟁에서 이기기 위해서도, 자신을 방어하기 위해서도 사용할 수 있으며, 많은 용도로 말을 사용할 수 있습니다만, 하나님께서는 우리가 축복하는 일에 언어를 사용하기를 원하십니다. 그러니 우리가 말할 때에 축복하는 말이 아니거나 듣는 사람에게 이득이 될 만한 말이 아니거든 아예 말을 하지 않는 편이 좋겠습니다. (저희) 할머니께서 말씀하신 "만약 좋은 말이 나올 것 같지 않다면 아예 입을 다물어라"는 말씀이 옳습니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
We can use our words to be cute. We can use our words to appear impressive. We can use our words to win arguments. We can use our words to defend ourselves. We can use our words to lie and distort. We can use our words to do many things, but God wants us to use our words to bless. So when we speak, if our words do not bless and benefit those to whom we direct them, then we should not say anything. Grandma was right. "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all."
내 기도
사랑하는 하나님, 제 가족, 동료, 만나는 사람들을 축복하는 말을 할 수 있도록 지혜를 주시옵소서. 진실되고 사랑하는 말, 친절하고 자비로운 말이 제가 입을 열때에 흘러나오기를 원합니다. 사랑하는 주님, 제 입의 말이 주님을 섬기고 주님께 영광돌릴 수 있도록 오늘도 사용하시옵소서. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Give me wisdom today, dear God, to speak words that bless my family, co-workers, and those I meet. I want to be truthful, loving, kind, and merciful when I open my mouth and speak. May the words of my mouth be used in your service and to your glory today, dear Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
