오늘의 묵상
여러분이 투표했던 후보에게 실망했거나, 친구에게 배신당했거나, 애인에게 버림을 받았거나, 교회 지도자에게 실망했던 때가 얼마나 많으셨습니까? 사실 우리가 다른 이들을 돌보고 사랑한다고는 하지만, 이 세상의 모든 사람은 우리와 다 똑같습니다 — 같은 공기를 마시고 같은 땅을 밟으며 우리와 똑같이 결함이 있는 인간들인 것입니다. 오직 한 분 주님만이 우리의 궁극적인 신뢰를 받으시기 합당하십니다. 그분께서는 그 자신에게 가장 중요한 것을 희생시키셔서 우리가 그의 사랑을 깨닫도록 하셨습니다. 하루아침에 죽어버릴 수도 있는 존재에게 우리의 소망을 두지 맙시다; 오직 하나님만이 우리의 신뢰를 안전하게 보호하실 수 있습니다. 우리의 소망을 하나님께 둡시다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
How often have you been disappointed by someone you voted for? How many friends have betrayed you? Have you ever been abandoned by a loved one? How many church leaders have let you down?
While we love others and care about them, every other person in our world is just like us. Each is a flawed human being who breathes the same air and walks the same ground as we do. Only One is worthy of our ultimate trust. He showed us by sacrificing what was most precious to him so we could know his love. Let's not put our hope in other mere mortals; only God can safeguard our trust and ensure our future. Let's put our hope in him!
내 기도
아버지, 제 삶 속에서 다른 이들이 실패하는 것 때문에 제 마음속 상처들이 있다는 것을 아십니다. 아버지의 백성들이 실패하고 모순되기 때문에, 아버지의 길에 환멸을 느꼈던 적이 있었음을 고백합니다. 아버지, 그들의 실패가 아버지의 실패가 아니라는 것을 깊이 깨닫고 있으면서도, 그런 방식으로 느끼는 것이 어렵습니다. 저를 아버지 옆에 가까이 두시옵소서. 저를 실패하게 하는 이들에게 더 관대한 마음을 제게 주시옵소서. 오 주님, 제 믿음을 세워주시고 아버지 안에서 강하고 튼튼하게 만드시옵소서. 주님을 신뢰합니다. 예수님의 이름으로, 아멘.
My Prayer...
Father, you know the broken places in my heart that were caused by the failure of people in my life. I confess that I have sometimes become disillusioned with your way because of the failures and inconsistencies in your people. Deep down I know, dear Father, that their failures do not mean your failure, but it is hard for it not to feel that way. Call me close to you. Give me a more gracious heart toward those who fail me. Establish my faith, strong and firm in you, O Lord. In you, O God, I put my trust. In Jesus' name. Amen.
