오늘의 묵상
여러분은 어떻게 느끼실지 잘 모르겠지만, 성경 말씀은 종종 잔인할 만큼 솔직해서 마음이 아프곤 합니다! 보통 우리들은 이 세상과 지구가 참으로 오래 되었으며 앞으로도 영구히 존재하리라고 생각합니다. 하지만 하나님께서 말씀하시기를, 그것들이 잠깐 동안만 있는 것들이라고 하십니다! 그런데 그것들에 비하면 우리들의 존재는 더욱 더 잠깐일 뿐입니다.: 하루살이처럼 잠시 이 곳에 머물다가 사라져버리는 존재들입니다. 하지만 사실은 완전히 가버리는 것이 아닙니다! 그리스도인은 이 지구에서의 일시적 존재가 끝난다 해도, 그리스도 안에서 영속하는 하나님의 구원에 묶여 있으며 또한 결코 끝나거나 꺾이지 않는 하나님의 의에 사로잡혀 있기 때문입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
I don't know about you, but sometimes the Bible is so brutally honest it hurts! We assume that the cosmos and our little blue planet have existed for a long time. We sometimes assume that it will be here a long time more. But God reminds us that it is temporary! We are even more temporary: just like flies, we're here for a short while, and then we're gone. But not gone, gone! Christians are just gone from the temporary existence of earth because our lives are caught up with Christ in God's salvation which lasts forever. God's righteousness will never end or fail. Our salvation will last beyond every tomorrow!
내 기도
제 기도를 들으시고 제 여정에 힘을 주시는 의로우신 아버지시여! 제가 그리스도인으로서 아버지와 함께 보유한 것들은, 죽음의 경계선을 뛰어넘고 제 인성의 한계를 넘어서고 제가 가진 취약함을 극복할 수 있다는 확신을 주시니 감사드립니다. 제가 아버지께 또한 아버지의 구원에 묶여 있는 것과, 예수님 덕분에 저를 의롭고 거룩한 자녀로 봐주시는 것 모두 감사드립니다. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
O Righteous Father who hears my prayers and strengthens me for the journey, thank you for the assurance that what I have as a Christian with you goes beyond the boundaries of death, the limitations of my humanity, and the vulnerabilities of my weaknesses. Thank you that I am tied to you and your salvation and that because of Jesus, you see me as your righteous and holy child. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
