오늘의 묵상
우리가 얼마나 많이 노력하든지, 우리가 얼마나 선하든지, 그리고 우리가 얼마나 많은 일을 하든지 소용없습니다. 그 기준, 즉 전능하신 하나님의 영광이라는 정말로 중요한 단 하나의 수준에 닿을 수 없다는 것입니다. 하지만 감사하게도, 하나님은 우리가 실제로 그렇지 않은 성품들-완벽하고, 흠이 없고, 거룩함-이 있는듯 흉내내라고 요구하지 않으십니다. 대신에 하나님께서는 우리가 이렇게 되도록 만드십니다. (골1:21-23) 이것은 은혜로 말미암아 또한 우리 죄의 대가를 대신 치르시고 의로움을 부어 주시는 아들을 통하여 이루십니다. (고후5:21) 하나님을 찬양하세요. 우리의 구원자, 예수 그리스도를 찬양하세요. 이제는 우리의 주님이신 예수님과 함께 살아갑시다. 우리의 구원받음은, 돈을 주고 사야 하거나, 도망가지 않도록 굳게 지켜야 할 필요가 없습니다. 그분께서 우리에게 값없이 무료로 주심을 감사합시다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
No matter how hard we try, how good we are, or how much we work, we can never measure up to the only standard that matters — the glorious perfection of Almighty God. Thankfully, God doesn't require us to pretend to be what we are not yet — perfect, spotless, and holy. Instead, God makes us to be these by grace(Colossians 1:21-23) through the gift of his Son, who purchased our pardon and gave us his righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). Praise God. Praise our Savior, Jesus Christ. Now let's live with Jesus as our Lord, not to earn or secure our salvation, but to thank God for what he has so freely given us by his grace in Jesus!

제일 귀하고 거룩하신 아버지, 당신의 놀라운 은혜에 대해 제가 할 수 있는 모든 말이라고는, 오직 감사하다는 것 뿐입니다! 이러한 말들이 너무나도 부족하지만 진심인 것을 알아주세요. 사랑하는 아버지, 내가 얼마나 당신이 내게 해주신 모든 것들에 감사하는지, 내 남은 인생을 통하여 보여드리길 원합니다. 예수님의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.

Most precious and holy Father, all I can say to your marvelous grace is thank you! Please know that while these words of thank you are woefully inadequate, they are genuine. Dear Father, I look forward to showing you through the rest of my life how much I appreciate all that you have done for me. In Jesus' glorious name, I pray. Amen.
