오늘의 묵상

복수는 가해자 및 결백한 피해자를 모두 파괴시키는 사탄의 술수입니다. 일단 앙갚음을 하겠다는 동기부여가 되고나면, 상처입은 사람은 갑자기 분노와 증오의 물결에 휩쓸리게 됩니다. 복수심에 불타는 사람이 만지는 모든 것들에 이런 독(毒)이 퍼져나가게 됩니다. 이 땅의 재판 제도가 얼마나 잘 운영되든 상관없이, 이 땅에서 완벽하고 온전한 정의를 찾을 수는 없을 것입니다. 하지만 하나님께서는 정의를 이끌고 오실 뿐 아니라, 우리를 구원하실 것인데, 억압하는 자들의 손에서부터, 또 증오라는 독으로부터도 구원하실 것입니다.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Revenge is Satan's way of destroying both the innocent and the offender. Once vengeance becomes the motivation, the wounded party can suddenly be swept up in rage and hatred. This poison spreads to everything the vengeful person touches. On earth, we can see that we will never find perfect and complete justice, no matter the "goodness" of the judicial system in place at the time. But God will not only bring justice; he will deliver us: deliver us from the hands of the oppressor and deliver us from the poison of hatred.

내 기도

용서하시는 주님, 모든 정의와 변치않는 사랑의 하나님, 이 땅의 사법 체계 속에서 일하여 주시기를 간구합니다. 더 공정하고 참된 재판들이 있도록 하시옵소서. 정의를 사고 파는 이들을 노출시켜서 그들을 권력으로부터 제거하여 주시옵소서. 폭력적인 이들과 억누르는 자들을 주님의 손으로 다루어 주시옵소서. 주님, 성령의 능력으로 저를 북돋우셔서 다른 이들을 제가 용서할 수 있게 하시고 주님의 정의를 기다리게 하시옵소서. 용서하지 못하고 복수하려는 마음의 독(毒)으로부터 저를 지키시옵소서. 저를 부당하게 취급하는 자들에 대한 제 태도, 행동, 반응들을 그들이 보고 주님의 독생자를 자신들의 구원자로 알게 되도록 도우시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

My Prayer...

Forgiving Lord, God of all justice and steadfast love, I ask you to be at work in the justice system of my land. Make it more equitable and true. Expose those who buy and sell justice and remove them from power. Deal with the violent and the oppressor with your mighty hand. Please, Lord, by the power of your Spirit, stir me to forgive others and to wait on your justice. Guard me from the poison of an unforgiving and vengeful heart. May my attitude, behavior, and response to those who wrong me help lead them to know your Son as their Savior. In his name, Jesus, that I pray. Amen.
