오늘의 묵상
예수님에 대한 가장 기본적이고도 고상한 선언이 디모데전후서와 디도서에 실려 있습니다. 이 서신서들은 쉽지 않은 장소에서 교회들을 성숙시키던 사역자들을 돕기 위해서 쓰여졌습니다. 믿을 수 없을 만큼 실제적이지만, 예수님의 사역과 그의 신성과 신실함에 뿌리를 내리고 있습니다. 우리도 그 신실하신 한분을 기다리고 있습니다! 그분께서 우리를 대속하시기 위해 희생하셨기에 우리를 위해 다시 오실 것을 신뢰합니다. 우리가 기다릴 때에, 우리는 선한 일에 열심을 내는 백성이 되고 우리의 삶에서 그분이 우리의 주님이심을 드러내어 그의 사역을 존귀하게 합니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Some of the most basic and elevated statements about Jesus are made in 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus. These letters are devoted to helping ministers mature churches in difficult places. They are incredibly practical letters but also are rooted in the work of Jesus, his divinity, and his faithfulness. We are waiting for the Faithful One! We trust that he will come for us because of what he sacrificed to redeem us. While we wait, we honor his mission by being a people eager to do what is good, showing in our lives that Jesus is our Lord.
내 기도
오 하나님, 저는 예수님을 기다리고 있습니다. 저를 위해 오실 것이므로... 길고, 힘들고, 열매가 없는 것처럼 느껴지는 날들이라 해도 제 삶에 나아갈 방향과 의미가 있다는 것을 압니다. 예수님의 영광스러운 나타나심을 고대하게끔 제 마음을 뜨겁게 하시고, 선하고 거룩한 것만을 바라도록 제가 열심을 내도록 자극시켜 주시옵소서. 저는 주님을 뵙고 싶습니다! 사랑하는 주님, 하지만 주님을 닮는 것도 간절히 원합니다! 예수님의 영광스러운 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
O God, I find myself waiting for Jesus. Because he is coming for me, I know my life's direction has meaning and purpose, even on those days that are long, hard, discouraging, and seemingly fruitless. Fire my heart to wait longingly for Jesus' glorious appearing, and stir my desires to want what is only good and holy. I want to see you! But, dear Lord, I also long to be like you! In the glorious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
