오늘의 묵상
예수님의 사역 속에서 자신들을 제자라고 밝히 드러내지 않았던 이 두 남자의 삶 속에서 십자가의 능력이 증명되었습니다. 예수께서 죽으셨을 때에 장례를 제대로 받으시게 하기 위해서, 자신들이 유월절에 부정해지는 것을 감수했던 이 두 남자는 최악의 시기에 주님께 대한 신실함을 드러낸 이들입니다. 다른 어떤 것도 그들의 마음을 감동시킬 수 없었지만, 십자가가 우리의 마음처럼 그들의 마음도 감동시켰던 것입니다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
The power of Jesus' Cross was demonstrated in the lives of two men, Joseph, the rich man from Arimathea, and Nicodemus, the great teacher of Israel. Neither showed himself fully to be a disciple of Jesus in his earthly ministry. The Cross touched them when nothing else could, just like it has touched us! After Jesus' death, these two personally ensure Jesus is given a proper burial, thus making themselves unclean for the Passover week and proving themselves loyal to the Lord at the worst time for them to do so.
내 기도
의로우신 아버지, 저는 십자가라는 형벌이 저주받았다는 잔혹한 상징이라는 것을 잘 압니다. 하지만 잔혹하긴 해도 제게는 소중하고, 끔찍하긴 해도 제게는 아름다울 뿐입니다. 십자가를 통해 제 죄에서 저를 구하셨고 얼마나 저를 사랑하시는지 보여주셨습니다. 고맙습니다! 아버지께 영광 돌리고 갈보리에서 허락하신 형언할 수 없는 선물에 감사를 드리도록 제 삶 속 작은 부분들을 사용해 주시옵소서. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Righteous Father, I know the Cross was a brutal symbol of being cursed. Yet to me, it is as precious as it is brutal and as beautiful as it was hideous. Through the Cross, you saved me from my sin and showed how much you loved me. Thank you! Please use my life in some small way to glorify you and your indescribable gift at Calvary. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
