오늘의 묵상
성결(거룩)하게 된다는 말은 매우 "교회스럽게" 들리지요? 이 말은 하나님께서 쓰시기 위해, 또한 그분의 영광을 위해 특별히 예비되었다는 뜻이며, 일반적인 것은 아닙니다. 우리들은-일반적이지 않은-드문(uncommon) 사람들이 되어야 합니다! 특히 성적인 부도덕(음행)을 피하는 것에서 더욱 그렇습니다. 우리는 성적인 부도덕에서 매우 멀리 피해 있어야 하는데, 결혼을 통한 성적인 결합이라는 하나님 계획의 실현을 기쁘게 누리면서(잠언 5장, 고전 7:1-7), 하나님께 대한 존경(honor)을 우리 몸으로 표현하게 되는 것입니다. Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Sanctified sounds "churchy" and old-fashioned to many people today. However, sanctified is a powerful God-fashioned word that means to make someone or something special, holy, reserved, and prepared for God's use and glory, something or someone that is not common. We are called to be an uncommon people, holy, and set apart for God (1 Peter 2:9-10). This is especially true regarding sexual immorality, something pervasive in the culture of the early church and today. We're to stay far away from it, glorifying and honoring God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:18-20) while celebrating God's plan for joyful sexual fulfillment in marriage (Proverbs 5; 1 Corinthians 7:1-7).

아버지 하나님, 성적 에너지가 가득한(sexually charged) 문화 속에서 성적인 유혹을 이겨내려고 노력하는 저를 보호하시고 강하게 해 주십시오. 당신께 제 자신을 성결한 희생으로 드리기 원하고, 당신을 기쁘게 하며 당신의 백성들에게 축복이 되기를 원합니다. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Father God, please protect and empower us as we seek to resist sexual temptation in our sexually charged culture. We consciously offer ourselves and our bodies to you as holy sacrifices, seeking to glorify, honor, and please you in how we use our bodies. In Jesus' name, each of us longs to worship you with all our heart, mind, speech, and physical strength. Amen.
