오늘의 묵상
만족함! 글쎄요, 제가 별로 갖고 있지 못한 부분입니다; 여러분은 어떠신가요? 거의 대부분 항목들에 있어서 만족하지 못하는 저를 발견합니다. 개인적인 성과는 수준이하입니다. 몸무게는 이미 정상을 벗어났습니다. 최근 대화에서 내뱉은 말들이 좀 둔감했던 것 같습니다. 재정적으로 누리지 못하는 부분을 인식하고 그것을 추구하기 위해 몰입하는 것은 더욱 쉬워 보입니다. 하지만 돈, 소유물, 건강 혹은 그 어떤 것을 진정으로 즐거워할 수 있으려면, 만족함이라는 것이 우리의 상황에 의존하는 것이 아니라 구원에 속해 있다는 것을 배워야 합니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Contentment! Mmmm, I'd like to have a little of that! How about you? Paul was in prison when he wrote those words. I want the peace and joy from Jesus that assures contentment in any situation! However, I find it hard to be contented about almost anything. My performance is not up to par. My weight isn't where it should be. My words were a little insensitive in the last conversation. No one seems to recognize I am even a part of the conversation. It's easy for me, and also bet for you, to slip into recognizing what we don't have financially and then pursue that instead of thanking God for our blessings. But before money, possessions, health, or any other thing can be truly enjoyed, we first must learn that contentment is not based on our circumstances but on our salvation and the presence of Jesus in our lives and futures.

전능하시고 관대하신 하나님, 주님께서는 모든 좋은 선물들을 주시는 분이시기에, "만족함"이라는 선물을 제게 주셨으면 합니다. 사실 주님의 자녀가 되며, 주님께 사랑을 받고, 주님께서 개인적으로 저를 알고 계신다는 것들보다는 그 어떤 축복도 좋을 수 없으니, (이미 그런 축복들을 받은 저에게) 다른 축복들은 내키시는 것들로 내려 주시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Almighty and generous God, you are the giver of all good gifts, so now I want your help to find my contentment in Jesus. Deep in my heart, I believe no blessing can compare to being your child, lovingly known personally by you, and having my future secure with you in Jesus! I thank you in Jesus' name and look forward to this contentment. Amen.
