오늘의 묵상
여러분의 야망은 무엇인가요? 여러분은 어떨지 모르겠지만, 저는 "조용하게 살기를 힘쓰겠다"고 대답할 수 있을지 자신이 없습니다. 하지만 오늘 말씀 속 이런 지시의 이유를 듣게 되면, 이해가 됩니다. 제가 만나는 너무 많은 사람들이 자기들의 일 때문에 너무 바빠서 기진맥진하고, 다 닳아버리고 탈진한 사람들 같습니다. 그러니 어느정도 속도를 줄이고 매일 매일 하나님을 더욱 신뢰해나가면서 우리 주변의 사람들에게 존경받을 수 있는 삶을 살도록 추구합시다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
What's your ambition? I don't know about you, but I'm not so sure I could say my ambition is to "live a quiet life and work with your hands." (I'm a bit of a loud person, but I do love to work with my hands!) When I hear the apostle Paul's reason for that command, I understand his purpose in giving it. Many people I meet are frazzled, run-down, and exhausted with all their busyness. They never acquire the seat equity and satisfaction of finishing a job with their hands. I don't want to live in a way that ruins my life's influence on others, especially those who don't know Jesus. I hope you will join me in committing to quietening your life a bit, trusting God more for what you need each day, and seeking to work hard with your hands to win the respect of those around you. I don't want to be dependent upon anyone but God!
내 기도
오 소중하시고 의로우신 아버지 하나님, 속도를 늦추는 방법을 배우고, 통제가 안될 정도로 내딛거나 목적없이 방황하기보다는 제 자신의 책임을 잘 챙길 수 있도록 도와주시옵소서. 제가 기도해왔던 지혜를 제게 허락하실 뿐만 아니라, 그 지혜가 제 마음과 심령을 변화시키기 위해 필요한 인내심과 조용한 삶도 허락해 주시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
O precious and righteous Father, I need your help to slow down and tend to my responsibilities instead of running around out of control and without purpose. Please grant me the wisdom and patience to live a quiet life that graciously influences those around me toward you. In Jesus' name, I ask it. Amen.
