오늘의 묵상
얼마나 우리 자신에게 초점을 맞추고 싶어하는지, "1번 자리"를 차지하려고 집중하는지, 삶을 가치있게 만드는 의미있는 관계들로부터 스스로를 얼마나 고립시키는지 살펴보면 놀라울 정도입니다. "친구를 원한다면, 먼저 친구가 되십시오"라는 속담도 있듯이, 그 말이 참으로 맞습니다. 우리 자신에게만 유익이 되는 것을 추구하기란 참으로 쉽습니다. 그것이 바로 보통 사람들이 행동하는 기준입니다. 하지만 그리스도인들이 구원하는 일에 참여하고 하나님을 더욱 닮게 되려면, 자기 자신보다 이웃을 먼저 생각하는 의지가 중요합니다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Isn't it amazing how the more we try to fix things for ourselves — the more we focus on "looking out for number 1" — and the more we find ourselves isolated from meaningful relationships that make life worth living? "If you want to have a friend, then be a friend," the saying goes. You know what? That saying is correct! Anyone can seek only what is in their best interest — it's what MOST folks do. But what makes Christians redemptive, what makes them like God, their spiritual Father, is their willingness to think of others before themselves!

아버지, 제가 종종 이기적이면서 다른 사람들의 필요를 생각하고 결정하는 영향력에 대해서는 거의 생각하지 않았던 것을 용서해 주시옵소서. 제가 그리스도의 마음을 가지며, 사심없으면서도 주님의 은혜와 친절이 필요한 모든 이들에게 희생하며 나눌 수 있기를 원합니다. 제 삶의 이런 영역에서 주님의 독생자를 닮도록 축복하여 주시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Father, forgive me because I know that I am often selfish and seldom think through the implications of my decisions based on the needs of others. I want to have the mind of Christ and be more selfless and sacrificial with everyone who needs your grace (Philippians 2:4-8). Please bless me as I seek to be like your Son in this area of my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
