오늘의 묵상
요즘 세상에서 불경스럽다는 취급을 받는 것은 바로 죽음입니다. 생각하기도 싫어하고 말하기는 더욱 싫어합니다. 하지만 죽음이란 우리를 비켜가지 않는 하나의 현실입니다. 죽음으로 인해 친구들과 가족들을 잃습니다. 예수님께서 우리가 죽기전에 오시지 않는 이상 우리의 삶도 분명히 죽음을 맞이할 날이 올 것입니다. 빠져나갈 수 없는 이 상황을 마주할 때 우리가 확신할 수 있는 것이 남아있을까요? 바로 우리의 목자되시는 분입니다! 그분께서는 우리의 여행동안 걸어가게 하시고 인도, 보호, 위안을 제공하시는 분이십니다. 우리가 예수님을 좋은 목자로 알기 때문에, 또 예수님께서 우리보다 먼저 걸으셨던 그 죽음의 골짜기가 죽음으로 끝나지 않고 영광으로 끝맺는다는 것을 알려주셨기 때문에, 우리는 그 약속을 강하게 붙잡을 수 있는 것입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Death is the ultimate profanity in today's world. We don't like to think about it, much less talk about it. However, death is that one reality that will not leave us alone. We lose friends and family members to death. At one point in our lives, we too, will face this inevitability unless Jesus comes before our passing. So what is our assurance as we face the inescapable? Our Sheperd! He will walk us through, guiding and protecting and comforting us in our journey. And as Christians, this promise is only intensified because we know Jesus as our Good Shepherd, and he has taken the walk ahead of us to assure us that our walk through death's valley doesn't end in death, but in glory.

사랑하는 하늘 아버지, 나의 목자이시고 구원자이신 분, 저 혼자 죽음을 맞이하지 않아도 되니 감사드립니다. 죽음의 음침한 골짜기를 지나갈 때에 아버지의 음성을 듣고 인도함을 받아서, 아버지의 영광스럽고 거룩하신 임재 안으로 승리의 기쁨을 갖고 들어가기를 원합니다. 예수님 이름으로 확신을 갖고 기도드립니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Dear Heavenly Father, my Shepherd and Savior, thank you that I do not have to face death alone. I look for your guidance and listen for your voice to lead me through death's dark valley and bring me to your holy and glorious presence in victory and with joy. In Jesus' name I confidently pray. Amen.
