오늘의 묵상
순종의 순서는 언제나 같았습니다: 먼저 하나님께서 자신을 드러내시고, 우리를 축복하시고, 그 이후에 하나님께서 우리의 반응을 요구하시는 것입니다. 다른 말로 하면, 하나님께서 우리를 먼저 축복하신 이후에야 우리에게 순종하라고 말씀하시는 것입니다. 하나님께서는 모든 권력을 갖고 계시며 최고로 높으신 분이십니다. 그냥 자신의 위치상으로 보아 우리들에게 순종하라고 무턱대고 요구할 수도 있으신 분이시지만, 그렇게 하지 않으십니다. 하나님께서는 성경을 통해, 자연을 통해, 구원의 행동을 통해 자신을 드러내시기로 결정하셨습니다. 그분께서는 우리들이 그분을 알고 그분에게 반응하기를 원하십니다. 순종하기란 어려울 수도 있습니다. 순종하라는 요구는 이해하기 어려울 수도 있습니다. 하지만, 우리를 대속하시기 위해 엄청난 대가를 이미 지불하셨고 이미 신실하심을 증명하신 바로 그 아버지께서 말씀하신 것을 우리가 압니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
The order of faithful obedience is always the same in Scripture: God reveals himself to us, blesses us with his grace, and then asks us to respond with obedience. In other words, God blesses us first and then asks us to obey — grace precedes the call to obedience! God is all-powerful and supreme. He could demand our obedience just because of who he is, but he doesn't. He has chosen to reveal himself through Scripture, nature, his acts of salvation, and most completely in Jesus. He wants us to know him and respond to him. Our obedience may be difficult. Our call to obey may sometimes be hard for us to understand. However, we know it comes from a Father who has paid an enormous price to redeem and adopt us into his family and has repeatedly proven himself to be gracious and faithful.
내 기도
거룩하시고 전능하신 하나님, 모든 영광과 존귀를 받으시기에 합당하십니다. 제가 거룩해야 하며 주님의 말씀에 순종해야 하며 주님의 뜻을 추구해야 한다는 주님의 요구가, 결국은 저를 사랑하시고 축복하시는 주님의 열망이 그 근원이라는 것을 잘 이해합니다. 저는 나뉘지 않은 마음으로 주님을 섬기고 싶습니다. 주님의 축복을 제게 나누어 주셨으니, 기쁨과 감사함으로 제 순종을 올려드리고 싶습니다. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Holy and Almighty God, you are worthy of all glory and honor. I realize that your demands that I should be holy, obey your Word, and seek your will are all based on your desire to love me and bless me. I want to serve you with an undivided heart. I want my obedience to be offered as joyously and graciously to you as your blessings have been shared with me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
