오늘의 묵상
만약 성경이 사랑의 이야기라면, 그 테마는 "소망"일 것입니다. 얼마나 환경이 끔찍하든지, 얼마나 큰 적을 마주하고 있든지, 죄가 얼마나 심각하든지, 사람들을 얼마나 잃었든지, 찬장이 다 텅텅 비었든지, 건너야 할 강이 얼마나 넓든지 간에 상관없이... 하나님께서는 그의 백성들에게 더 밝은 내일을 소망할 이유를 반복해서 주십니다. 내일을 확신할 수 있는 것이 예수님 안에서라는 것을 하나님께서 알려주십니다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
If the Bible is a love story, then its theme is hope. No matter how dire the circumstances, no matter how big the enemy, no matter how deep the sin, no matter how lost the people, no matter how empty the cupboard, no matter how wide the river, no matter how... God repeatedly gives his people reasons to hope for a brighter tomorrow. And after giving hope to his rebellious and forgetful people, God brought the assurance of that hope — that brighter tomorrow — by sending Jesus!
내 기도
영원하신 하나님, 주님의 성경 말씀을 보면서 주님의 진리를 알고 이해하려고 하오니 제게 참을성과 인내심을 허락하여 주시옵소서. 구약성경에서 주님의 백성을 대속하시고 복주시려고 행하신 엄청난 일들을 보고 입을 다물 수가 없을 정도입니다. 예수님의 오합지졸에 불과한 그 제자들을 데리고 하셨던 일들도 참으로 경탄스럽습니다. 오 하나님, 제 안에 소망을 불어넣으셔서, 주님의 손으로부터 중요한 것들을 기대하여, 제가 사는 날 동안에 주님께서 그것을 이루시는 것을 보겠다고 바라게 하시옵소서. 그런 소망과 제 삶의 모든 것들이 주님께 존귀와 영광이 되기를 원합니다. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Eternal God, please give me patience and endurance as I search your Scriptures to know and understand your truth and stand in your hope. I am amazed at the incredible things you did to redeem and bless your people in the Old Testament. I am absolutely astonished at what you were able to do with Jesus' rag-tag bunch of disciples. Please, O God, inspire my hope so that I will expect something great from your hand and then live to see you accomplish it in my day. May this, as well as all other things in my life, be done to your honor and glory. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen.
