오늘의 묵상
하나님께서는 의로운 자들과 의롭지 않은 이들을 면밀히 구분하실 것이라고 약속하셨습니다. 예수님께서 말씀하신 비유에서도 똑같은 내용을 반복하셨습니다. 하지만 하나님의 백성들에게는 이것이 두려운 경고가 아닙니다. 대신에, 이 말씀은 약속의 말씀입니다. 하나님을 지혜롭게 존귀하게 해드렸거나 하나님을 위해 산 사람들은 다른 이들 앞에 밝게 빛날 것입니다. 다른 이들을 이끌어 의롭게 살도록 이끈 이들은 아버지 하나님의 눈에 별처럼 반짝여 보일 것입니다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
God promised a sifting between the righteous and the unrighteous both in this life and before the life to come. Jesus repeated the same assurance of such a sifting in his parables. For God's people, however, promises to sift — to judge between righteous and unrighteous — are not fearful warnings. Instead, they are words of promise. Those who have wisely honored and lived for God and led others to him will shine brilliantly for all to see, and we will twinkle like stars in their Father's eyes... forever!
내 기도
사랑하는 하나님, 저를 주님의 은혜와 친절하심으로 이끄시고 구원하셨으니 감사드립니다. 하지만 아버지 하나님의 충성된 종들이 비방당하고 비웃음 당하면서 사악한 자들이 번성하는 것을 보면 낙담하게 됩니다. 아버지의 놀라운 은혜로 저희를 심판하실 것을 알기에 감사드립니다! 동시에, 아버지를 사랑하는 자들과 고난, 위험, 조롱을 자신들의 믿을 때문에 겪고 있는 이들을 위해 정의를 행하실 것을 알기에 감사드립니다. 그들이 어디에 있든지 부디 그들과 함께 하여 주시고 그 날이 오기까지 그들이 버틸 수 있도록 힘을 허락해 주시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Loving God, thank you for saving me by your grace and kindness. Father, sometimes I get frustrated when I see the wicked prosper while your loyal servants are maligned and ridiculed for their character. I'm thankful that you will judge us based on your incredible grace and your standard of righteousness! I'm also grateful you will bring justice for those who love you and who are enduring hardship, danger, and ridicule because of their faith. Please be with them, wherever they may be, and give them strength to persevere until that day of sifting arrives with glory. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
