오늘의 묵상
신년 계획과 목표를 무엇으로 세우셨나요? 위대한 꿈과 근사한 목표를 갖고 계신가요? 그러시기를 바랍니다. 하지만, 자신이 도대체 왜 그 목표를 세웠으며 그 계획을 만들었는지 심각하게 고려해보는 것이 어떨까요? 크리스마스에 한창 선물을 주고받았던 열기가 아직도 느껴지는 이 때에, 미래를 위한 우리들의 신년 계획이 이기적이라거나 시기, 욕정, 탐욕에 기반한 것이 아니라는 것을 확실히 해두어야 합니다. 그 대신에, 하나님의 높은 영광에 닿을 만큼 우리의 마음을 높은 곳에 고정시키고, 다른 이들에게 복을 나누어 주는 위대한 사역을 하도록 합시다. 그런 방향으로 가지 않고 다른 큰 일들을 이루려 한다면, 우리의 시도들은 결국엔 혼란과 비통함과 파괴로 이어질 것입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
What are your goals and plans for the New Year? Do you have great dreams and laudable goals? I sure hope so. But please join me as I seriously look at why I set my goals and make my plans for the coming year. In the afterglow of Christmas, that great season of giving, let's make sure our plans for the future are not selfishly based on envy, lust, or greed. Instead, let's set our hearts to reach great heights for God's glory and do great things to bless others. Otherwise, all our selfish attempts to achieve great things ultimately will end in chaos, heartbreak, and destruction.

영원하신 하나님, 새해의 목표를 세울 때에 저와 함께 하여 주시옵소서. 저는 하나님의 영광을 위하여 위대한 일을 하고 싶습니다. 제가 살아가는 이 세상과 저를 보내신 사람들 가운데에서 하나님의 뜻을 성취하시기 위하여 저를 사용하시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Eternal God, please be with me as I seek to set goals for the coming year. I want to do great things for your glory. Please use me to accomplish your will in the world in which I live and in the group of people to whom you have sent me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
