Jesus estava lá. Ele estava com Deus no início. Mas ele foi mais do que uma testemunha da criação. Ele a criou! Jesus, que se permitiu ficar limitado em carne humana e morrer uma morte cruel e agonizante na cruz, estava lá no princípio, como a Palavra falando para que nosso mundo fosse criado. Ele o fez. É dele. Mesmo assim ele veio e morreu para redimi-lo. Mais importante, ele veio para redimir você e eu. Então, quando a Palavra falar nos dizendo como viver de maneira agradável a Deus, você não acha que devemos prestar atenção? Mais ainda, você não acha que devemos obedecê-la?
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Jesus was there. He was with God in the beginning, yet he was much more than just a witness of Creation. He created it all — there is NOTHING that has been created that Jesus did not make happen. Yes, this Jesus also allowed himself to be limited to human flesh and endured a cruel and agonizing death on a cross. This Jesus was there at the beginning as the Word, speaking our world into existence. He had made everything. It is his. Yet when humanity stained it with rebellion and sin, he came and died to redeem it. More specifically, he came to redeem you and me. So when the One who is the Word speaks to us, telling us how to live to please God, don't you think we'd better pay attention? Better yet, don't you think we should do what the Word says?

Santo Pai, seu plano para me salvar me faz sentir humilde e admirado. Mandar Jesus, a Palavra que criou o mundo que eu conheço, é maravilhoso demais para eu compreender totalmente. O fato dele permitir ficar limitado ao mundo que Ele criou confunde minha imaginação. O fato dele morrer por mim para que eu viva com o Senhor cativa meu coração! Por favor, ajude-me enquanto eu busco viver minha vida baseada nos Seus ensinamentos e na Sua vontade. No nome de Jesus, a Palavra Viva, eu oro. My Prayer...
Holy Father, your plan to save me through Jesus overwhelms and humbles me. That you would send the Word, who created the world, is more gracious than I can fully grasp. That he would allow himself to be limited to the world he had made boggles my imagination. That he would die for me so I can live with you forever captures my heart! Please help me as I seek to live based on the Word's teachings and your will. In the name of Jesus, the Living Word, I pray. Amen.
