Quando Jesus veio a primeira vez, ele veio para revelar Deus (Jo 1:18). Mesmo que ele tenha sido tão maravilhoso, poderoso, e gracioso no seu ministério terreno, ele ainda não revelou totalmente tudo o que ele é. Nossa esperança está ligada ao seu retorno. Quando ele vier desta vez, ele não virá para revelar Deus, mas para se revelar - o Senhor da conquista, o Cavaleiro do cavalo branco. Todo joelho se dobrará. Nós o veremos como ele é realmente e totalmente - Emanuel em poder e graça, sempre triunfante. Quando colocamos nossa esperança na volta de Cristo, nós podemos estar confiantemente prontos para serviço ativo ao nosso rei hoje. Nós podemos viver sob sua liderança com obediência e louvor hoje.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
When Jesus came the first time, he came to reveal God (John 1:18). As wonderful, powerful, and gracious as he was in his earthly ministry, he did not fully reveal all who he is. Our hope is tied to his return. When he comes this time, he won't come to reveal God, but to reveal himself — the conquering Lord, the Rider on the white horse. Every knee will bow. We will get to see him as he really and fully is — Immanuel in power and grace, triumphant in every way. When we set our hope on Jesus' grace when he returns, we can be confidently ready for active service to our king today. We can live under his leadership with obedience and praise today.

Ó Deus Poderoso, eu anseio pelo dia no qual verei Jesus face a face vindo com os anjos em poder. Até aquele dia, ate meu coração em esperança à glória que Jesus compartilhará comigo, e por favor, dê-me poder para viver como um que sabe que tem a vitória em Jesus. Jesus, através do seu nome poderoso eu oro. Amém.
My Prayer...
O Almighty God, I long for the day when I get to see Jesus face to face coming with the angels in power. Until that time, fasten my heart in hope to the glory Jesus will share with me on that day, and please empower me to live as one who knows that victory is mine in Jesus. Jesus, through your powerful name I pray. Amen.
