இந்தநாளுக்குரிய வேதவார்த்தையின் கருப்பொருள்
சிலுவையில் அறையப்படுவது மிகவும் கொடூரமானது , மிகவும் மனிதாபிமானமற்றது மற்றும் இழிவானது, கிரேக்க மற்றும் ரோமானிய கலாச்சாரத்தில் "சிலுவையிலறைதல் " (σταυρόω) மற்றும் "சிலுவை " (σταυρός) ஆகிய இரு வார்த்தைகளும் மென்மையான வார்த்தையாக கருதப்படவில்லை. அரசாங்கத்திற்கு அச்சுறுத்தலாகக் கருதப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கும்,சமூகத்தின் தீயவர்களுக்கும் சிலுவையிலே அறையப்படுவது அவர்களுக்காக ஒதுக்கப்பட்டது. இயேசுவானவர் இந்த கொடூரமான மரணத்தை சகித்தார். ஆனால் சாத்தான் தேவனை எப்படி வெட்கப்படுத்தும்படி நினைத்தானோ , அந்தபடியே சாத்தானையும் அவனது பிசாசின் கூட்டாளிகளையும் இயேசுவானவர் வெட்கப்படும்படி செய்தார் . அவர்களை வெளியரங்கமாக இவ்வுலகில் உள்ள மக்கள் யாவரும் பார்க்கும்படி அதை செய்தார் . அவமானம் என்ற அவர்களின் சித்திரவதைக் கோலை கிருபையும் மகிமையும் கொண்ட பலிபீடமாக மாற்றினார். அவர் நரகத்தின் கொடூரமான கோபத்தை நமக்கான மன்னிப்பின் தியாகமாக மாற்றினார். நம்மை அழிக்கும் தீய சக்தியை அவர் மாற்றி , அதைக் குணப்படுத்த தேவனின் இடமாக மாற்றினார். இயேசு நமக்காக சிலுவையில் சகித்த சொல்லொண்ணாத் துன்பத்தையும், தியாகத்தையும் அவமானத்தையும் நாம் எண்ணி வருத்தப்படும் அதே வேளையில், பொல்லாதவனாகிய சாத்தானும் அவனுடைய வெறுப்பின் கண்ணிகளும் தகற்கப்பட்டதை குறித்து நாம் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறோம். அவர்களின் வெளியரங்கமான வெற்றி தோல்வியாக மாற்றப்படுகிறது. எது தேவனை மிகப் பெரிய அவமானமடைய செய்யுமோ , அது அவருடைய மாபெரிதான கிருபையாய் மாறிற்று , அந்த கிருபையினால் நாம் யாவரும் சாத்தானின் பிடியிலிருந்து நம்மை மீட்டுக்கொண்டது .
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Crucifixion was so hideous, so inhumane, and vile that the words "crucify" (σταυρόω) and "cross" (σταυρός) were not considered appropriate in polite speech in Greek and Roman culture. Crucifixion was reserved for the scum of society who were considered a threat to the government. Jesus endured this hideous death. But what Satan had intended for the humiliation of God, Jesus turned into the humiliation of Satan and his demonic allies. He made a public spectacle of them. He turned their torture stick of shame into an altar of grace and glory. He transformed the gory fury of hell into a sacrifice of forgiveness for us. He redirected evil's power to kill and made it God's place to heal. While we deplore the unspeakable sacrifice and shame that Jesus bore on the cross for us, we also rejoice that the evil one and his hoards of hate were broken. Their apparent victory is turned into their defeat. What was supposed to be God's greatest shame becomes his most lavish demonstration of grace, which ransoms us from Satan's grasp.

பரிசுத்தமும், நீதியுமுள்ள பிதாவே , உம்முடைய திட்டம், தியாகம் மற்றும் இரட்சிப்புக்கான எனது நன்றிகளை எந்த வார்த்தையும் போதுமான அளவில் வெளிப்படுத்த முடியாது. அன்பான இயேசுவே, உம் அன்பான மற்றும் வல்லமையுள்ள தியாகத்திற்காக எந்த ஒரு துதிப்பாடலோ, இதயப்பூர்வமான கவிதையோ அல்லது அன்பின் கடிதமோ என் நன்றியை வெளிப்படுத்த முடியாது. பாவம், மரணம் மற்றும் அர்த்தமற்ற வாழ்க்கையிலிருந்து என்னைக் காப்பாற்றியதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. அன்புள்ள பிதாவே உமக்கும், கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவுக்கும் , என் வாழ்கையையும் நன்றிகளையும் மற்றும் ஸ்தோத்திரங்களையும் காணிக்கையாக அளிக்கிறேன். ஆமென்.

No words, holy and righteous Father, can adequately express my appreciation for your plan, sacrifice, and salvation. No song of praise, heartfelt poem, or letter of love can ever express my thanks, dear Jesus, for your loving and powerful sacrifice. Thank you for saving me from sin, death, and a life without enduring meaning. To you, dear Father, and you, Lord Jesus, I offer my life as my gift of thanks and praise. Amen.
