خُدا کےلوگوں کے ساتھ جو عہد کیا گیا تھا اُس کے مطابق جب یسُوع آیا، وہ اسرائیل کے لوگوں کے لیے نہیں آیا۔ وہ صحیح طور پر داؤد کے گھرانے کی اولاد تھا، جو یسی کا بیٹا تھا۔ اُس کی پیدائش کی پیشگوئی یہودیوں کے نبیوں نے کی اور اسرائیلیوں کی بائبل میں اِس کا ذکر ہے۔ لیکن قطع نظر یہودی یا اُن کا علاقہ کیا تھا، یسُوع تمام لوگوں کےلیے پُرانے عہد نامے کے وعدوں کو پُورا کرنے کےلیے آیا جن کو خُدا نے اسرائیل اور یہودیوں کے مسِیح کے وسیلہ سے بچانا تھا۔ جیسا کہ داؤد نے اسرائیل کو طاقتور بنایا اور ایک شاندار لڑاکا اور بادشاہ کی شہرت پائی، یسُوع نے لاکھوں یہودیوں اور غیر یہودیوں کے دِلوں میں فضل کی سلطنت بنائی جو کہ اُس نے موت پر فتح پا کر حقیقی زندگی بخشی۔
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
When Jesus came, he came to Israel as a descendant of David. Jesus was a proper descendant of King David, the son of Jesse. His birth was prophesied by Jewish prophets and recorded in the Bible of the Israelite people. But no matter how Jewish his origins were, Jesus came to save all people in the world (John 3:16) in fulfillment of Old Testament promises that God would save and bless the people of all nations through the children of Abraham and the Jewish Messiah (Genesis 12:1-3). While David brought Israel to great power and notoriety as a fierce warrior and song-writing King, Jesus brought the reign of grace to the hearts of millions of Jews and non-Jews by conquering death and bringing true life to us. All people, Israelites and non-Israelites, find their hope in Jesus.

اے باپ، جیسا کہ یہ سال قریب لاتا اور نسلی اور مذہبی جذبات جو کہ پُوری دنیا میں محسوس کیے گئے، براہِ کرم ہمیں سلامتی عطا فرما۔ ہمیں اپنی حضوری اور محبت کا گہرا احساس دے۔ اپنے فضل سے ہماری چوپانی کر۔ ٹھیک اُسی وقت، یسُوع کی نجات کے وسیلہ سے لوگوں کو سلامتی کی طرف لانے کےلیے اپنے دلوں میں اِس خواہش کی شمع جلاؤ۔ براہِ کرم تمام دنیا میں اپنے لوگوں کو برکت دے جو کہ پیار کے ساتھ تیرے کلام کو اُس معاشرے میں پھیلا رہے ہیں جو کہ اُن سے مختلف ہے۔ اُن کو برکت دے کہ وہ اپنے گھرانوں سے دُور ہیں۔ سب سے بڑھ کر، اُن کو اُن کی خواہش کی مسرت سے برکت دے—اُن کو اِس مقدس موسم میں کسی کو نجات دینے کےلیے استعمال کر۔ یسُوع کے نام میں مانگتا ہوں۔ آمین۔
My Prayer...
Father, as this year draws to a close, ethnic and religious emotions are stirred worldwide — it's a tumultuous time! Please bless us with peace at this time. Give us a deep sense of your love and presence. Shepherd us in your grace. At the same time, please rekindle our hearts with your desire to bring all people together in peace through salvation in Jesus. Please bless your children worldwide who are lovingly sharing your gospel to a culture other than their own. Bless them as they are away from most of their family. Bless them with the joy of their desire: use them to lead someone to salvation during this holiday season. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
